The UNL Alert communication system will send messages through:

  • Text messaging (SMS)
  • E-mail

The new system now sends alerts through just email and texts, eliminating the time issues created by making multiple phone calls via cell and landline.

Participation in UNL Alert is voluntary but strongly encouraged. In a life-threatening situation, everyone needs to have the ability to be warned.
